Privacy Policy
This policy explains what data MyTab collects, why, and how you stay in control of it. We've written it in plain language — no unnecessary legalese.
Who we are
MyTab is developed and maintained by the MyTab Team, reachable at support@mytab.dev.
What we collect
Collected via Google Account sign-in, to identify your account, manage your plan (Free, Pro, or Founder), and send service-related notices, such as low AI quota warnings.
Tab titles and URLs
When you use automatic categorization or AI summary, the titles and URLs of the selected tabs are sent to our server and then to the Google Gemini API for processing. We do not store this content — it passes through our server only to generate the result, which goes straight back to the extension.
Files in your Google Drive
We use Google's drive.file scope — we only have access to
files the extension itself creates (your tab backups), never the rest
of your Drive.
Payment data
Subscriptions are processed by Creem. We do not store card numbers or financial data on our servers.
Usage quota and API key
For the Founder plan, we record how many AI requests have been used and, if you configure your own Gemini API key, it is associated with your account.
AI processing — Google Gemini
We use the Google Gemini API for categorization and summary. This integration currently runs on the API's free tier.
Under Google's terms, content submitted through the free tier may be used to improve products and AI models, and may undergo human review (disconnected from your identity). We are migrating to the paid tier, which removes this use. This section will be updated once the migration is complete.

We never sell or share your data for advertising purposes.
Retention
- Email and plan data: for as long as your account is active
- Tab titles/URLs: not retained by us; subject to the Gemini API's terms
- Webhook logs: kept for auditing and support purposes
Your rights
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Request access to the data we hold about you
- Revoke the extension's access to your Google Account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions

Security
All communication between the extension and our servers is encrypted (HTTPS).
Changes
This policy may be updated periodically. The date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent version.
